About Ceiba Yoga

Ceiba Yoga was created in 2022 by Liberty Veldstra (RYT 500) and Frederic Granchamp. They named the studio after a sacred Mayan tree, the Ceiba tree. The garden surrounding the yoga platform was home to the only two Ceiba trees on Caye Caulker.

In 2024 Liberty received the opportunity to move the studio to a beautiful new location by the Caribbean Sea! Weezies Oceanfront Hotel built a wonderful yoga platform out of Belizean hardwoods. Now Ceiba and Weezies are joining hands to bring yoga to Caye Caulker residents, visitors, tourists, and of course to Weezies' guests.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does it cost?
Our yoga classes are by donation (a pay-what-you-can system), to make yoga accessible to all! The recommended donation for a drop-in class is 10 USD (20 BZD), cash is preferred. For special events and sound baths there's a set price.
Do you provide mats?
Yes, we provide whatever you need; yoga mats, blocks, straps, and blankets. You only have to bring yourself and perhaps a bottle of water. To make yourself comfortable wear loose/comfortable clothing, and try to avoid eating a big meal.
Where are you located?
We're located on Avenida Mangle, next to Weezies hotel. You can enter our garden from both the beach side (Avenida Hicaco) or airport road (Avenida Mangle). We have a beautiful view of the Caribbean Sea. You can find directions here.
Do I have to be flexible?
Yoga is for everyone; you do not have to be flexible. In yoga we do not care about the way your pose looks, we don't care about performance, we only care if it's working for your unique body. Be comfortable and embrace yourself as you are.
Do you accept walk-ins?
When there is space available, we always accept walk-ins. However, we do limit our class size, and we recommend you to reserve your spot in advance, especially in high season. You can look at our class schedule reserve a spot here.
What if it rains?
Embrace the rain! We're under a palapa roof, and can roll down rain shades if rain comes in from the sides. A rainy day actually makes for a very cozy atmosphere. Only if there's a big (tropical) storm we may cancel a class.
